JONES - CAMEL - MATTESON - WILBUR - COVEY - BEALS - COLONY

Kathryn Bassett Wed May 6 18:16:39 1998
I have John JONES (1797-1855) was in Coventry, Chenango county, in 1830 and 1840 - his wife is Matilda, unknown surname. Children Minerva, Mary Ann, John Franklin, Adelbert Lyman, Susan A, and Frances Malvira Rosetta. The family moved to Masonville, Delaware Co, NY in 1847, about the time last child born. Definitly need help on this line.

I have Cordelia CAMEL (1817-after 1880) who married Leonard COLONY. The only place I have them is in Masonville, but 1855 census says she was born in Chenango county - the 1865 census says Delaware county so I don't know which is right. Can't find any CAMELs in either county.

I also have Cordelia MATTESON (1828-1916) born in Greene, Chenango county, later in New Berlin, then to Broome county. (Parents Erastus MATTESON and Sallie WILBUR, and married to Lorenzo Dow COVEY). With these families, I'm not lacking in Chenango info, as I have more on the ancestry. Mention them in case some one else ties in. Her grandfather Abram MATTESON married second wife Betsey REYNOLDS in 1849 in Greene, Chenango county, and he died 1851-1858 in Chenango. Abram had a possible brother Louis born 1773 who died 18 Aug 1848 in Greene.

Lastly is Linda BEALS (1796-?) who married Joseph COLONY. Supposedly she was born in Chenango county, and father Abraham/Abram was there in 1800, but by 1810 he's in Sidney and later Masonville, both Delaware county.
