Am trying to find information on Miriam/Merion HALLETT (b. 31 Jan 1822, supposedly Bainbridge, Chenango County, NY) and Albert ROUNDS (b. 14 Jan 1810, supposedly in Foster, Providence, RI. or Tioga County, PA). They were married 5 Oct 1848, in Bainbridge and may have had at least three children there: Alvah Bush ROUNDS, Ellen Josephine ROUNDS, and Mary Ann ROUNDS. I can find neither birth nor death records on the Chenango County site, or any other -- so far. Miriam is the daughter of Solomon HALLETT and Eleanor CLEVELAND Burgess Hallett, both who may have died in Bainbrige. I would like to know if Miriam and Albert died in Chenango County or if they moved elsewhere. Any help will be appreciated.

My 2nd Great Grandfather is Arron HALL (1841-1815) he married Lucy PITTSLEY (1838-1894). I found her name on the word tree that lists her parents as John PITTSLEY (1800-) and Sabrina or Salina CLAPP (1798-). I have found that they all lived in Oxford and Preston in Chenango County.
One of Lucy PITTSLEY and Arron HALL's children Charles HALL (1865-1919) married Myra Belle HANEY (1869-1924). They resided in Broome & Cortland Counties.
I would appreciate any information on anyone listed.

Looking for a William ROBBINS 2/2/1799 (I believe in Chenago Co NY. Died in Dover Olmstead MN. He is in Northumerlin, Saratoga Co. NY in 1841 as a Tax collector. Married Margaret VanDerWERKER / VanDerWARKER March 3, 1825. Moved to WI approx 1856. Possibly the son of William Gideon ROBBINS July 27, 1763 - Sept 25 1836.

Leslie Darwin TREADWAY and Marie Olive KIRBY lived in Greene, NY Sept, 1881. Two of their sons, Ellis Henry TREADWAY died Sept. 13 and William Henry TREADWAY died on Sept. 5. Please, are there any remaining CADWELLl individuals remaining in the area that might be able to jumpstart my search for my family tree. I have come to a dead end in my search in the 1850 census from Chenango County. Winfield Scott CADWELL and his wife, Mary, are shown. There is Also a Lavina CADWELL from that same census. But I do not know where to go from there, with the 1840 deficiencies everyone knows about. I see an Orrin CADWELL from 1840 but how can I tie him to my family? W. S. married a Mary RATHBONE / RATHBOUN, who was reported to have been a Cherokee Indian to my grandparents.

Looking for historical records Re: Harvey TALCOTT b. late 1700's d. 1847 cited as son of Joshua TALCOTT Sr. who settled in Sherburne in late 1700's. Several historical summaries connect Harvey as Joshua's son but I can't find birth, death, burial or marriage records to confirm. Harvey's sibs are cited as Joshua Jr. married Sarissa and Jemima who married Joshua PRATT. Cousin Leman H. TALCOTT who's father Joshua Jr bought Porter farm.

Historical documents i.d. Harvey was Postmaster of Smyrna 1829-1841, active in IOOF. Some trees say he had a son Dwight H. and a wife Mary but I have found no historical records.
All help appreciated.

Interested in information on Orrin/Orin/Oren SOULES of Truxton, NY, born about 1822 or so in Schoharie,NY ... Son of William and Debra (PADDOCK) SOULES who moved to Truxton, NY area with all the children.
Orrin had several wives: first Debbie Ann McLEAN, married 1848. Next census lists as wife a Roselind/Rosalind ___ and then 10 years later it lists a Hanna/Anna. Does anyone have any info on Roselind SOULES or a Hanna/Anna SOULES as to what their maiden names may have been? Or if Hanna/Anna was still Roselind and just a nickname?

Looking for the burial place of Erminie SOULE somewhere near DeRuyter - Lincklaen area. She was first daughter of William and Alice SOULE and died in infancy per the diaries of her mother Alice (MERCHANT) SOULE. She was born 03/05/1900 and died 08/21/1900 per the diary. Death Certificate was filed in South Otselic on 08/25/1900 again per the diary. I have searched as many cemetaries as I can find but can't find her resting place.
I have inherited 12 years of diaries of the life in the area with exception of a couple years missing. I know they live just outside Deruyter in the Lincklean area near Crumb Hill, Quaker Basisn area .
Can anyone help me find her place of rest? She would have been my great Aunt by way of William Alice's daughter Lorna SOULE. Then to my Mom, Dorice (SOULE) STARK. Thanks

I am looking for information on Bessie WAKLEE who lived in Deruyter are and died in Homer at age 98. She was a cousin but I can't find any other information on her life. She had grad from Deruyter schools and is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery. She was always a part of our family as she lived a great deal of her later life at the Brewster life and wrote beautiful poetry which I have. I find her mentioned in all 12 years of diaries of Alice (MERCHANT) SOULE. I can't find the connections to family. Can anyone help. Thanks -- Carol Stark Muench

Can anyone tell me if this will is indeed in Norwich, NY? Is there an abstract online?

I am trying to determine if Eunice WATSON, granddaughter of Ebenezer WILCOX, is mentioned in this will; if not, since she may have been deceased, are her children mentioned?

Iam looking for information on George Washington VANDERWALKER who was born in 1852 near Bennettsville, Chenango, New York. He died on 25 Jul 1933 in Bennesville, New York. I have some info that I got from the court house in Norwich, N.Y. but I'm lacking a lot more info. Such as the marriage date for George & his wife Minerva CHRISTMAN. Plus the death dates of all of his children.
If anyone can help me out let me know. As I can supply more info from what I do have. He had a daughter by the name of Edna VANDE(DER)WALKER, who married Charles E FILES, my grandfather. They were living in Sanford, New York Broome county. Please respond as soon as possible.

Elanson ROSE was an early physician in Chenango County according to an obit of one of his sons, Edwin G. ROSE who died Feb. 3, 1907 in Cleveland, OH. I would like to know what town Elanson ROSE was a doctor in. This son, Edwin, was born Feb. 1, 1837 in Sherburne. Any information on Elanson ROSE and family would be appreciated. Elanson's wife's name was Lucena--maiden name OSBORN.

I am looking for any information or photos of my great great grandfather John HARKIN and his family from New Berlin and Norwich, NY. John HARKIN (sometimes spelled HARKINS) married Mary LEWIS at Schenevus, Otsego, New York, on 30 Oct. 1842. They were both originally from Roseville (which became Chaseville). On the 1860 US census they were living at New Berlin, Chenango, NY, and on the 1870 US census at Norwich District 1, Chenango, NY, where he worked in a Tannery. This is the information I have so far.

John HARKIN - - - - - - - - - - -Born: 1821 in Ireland (one source says Scotland) ­ Enlisted at New Berlin on 23 Dec 1861 for Co. H 76th NY Volunteer Infantry. He was captured at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run on 29 Aug 1862 and held prisoner until 31 Oct 1962.

John H. HARKIN - - - - - - - - -Born: 1843 in New York - Died: 27 Dec 1861 of typhoid fever while a member of Co. H, 17th NY Volunteer Infantry ­ (I believe this may be the John Harkins listed on the Civil War memorial in New Berlin).

George W. HARKIN - - - - - - -Born: 1845 in New York - Enlisted in 1861, discharged in 1863 - Later killed when he was accidentally shot by an acquaintance.

Susan HARKIN - - - - - - - - - - Born: 1847 in New York - Married in 1862 (Her husband lost a leg in the Civil War).

Eliza Jane HARKIN - - - - - - - Born: 1849 in New York ­ Died: Jan 1862

Waldron “Waldo” HARKIN - -Born: 1850 in Pennsylvania

Elizabeth HARKIN - - - - - - - -Born: 1854 in Pennsylvania - Married in 1870 and lived in Pennsylvania.

Peter PENDLETON was born in Chenango the year 1787 and died/buried the year 1887 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah WI. Peter PENDLETON and Sarah FIDLER were married lifelong and had seventeen children. My question regards my gg-grandmother Sarah FIDLER and whether there are any records in the local Archives concerning her?
