SMITH -- am trying to find information on Simeon SMITH b. May 10, 1773 in the Chenango Co, NY? area. He was married Sept 22, 1794, came to Indiana with his large family about 1818 and died in Parke Co In 1851. His wife was Hester HELMS (1775-1832). Accoring to their family bible (found in the Terre Haute IN library) their children were: Jehial b Jun 10, 1797; George C b. March 3, 1800; Mary b. Feb 4, 1803; Eliza b. Sept 17, 1805; Permelia b. June 5, 1807; Simeon Jr b. April 14, 1811; Levi b. April 6, 1813; Reuben D b. Aug 1, 1815 (my man); Joseph C. b. Aug 1, 1818 and Margaret Ann b. March 15, 1825.
I know quite a bit about Joseph, Simeon, Jr and of course Reuben. It is hard to understand via the bible whether Joshua and Hannah Smith are Simeon's parents or whether George is -- both seem to be progenerates, just not sure which generation is which. Anyone know anything about this family? Have been searching for almost 30 years for the place in New York for sure where they are from and to no avail. Glad to share information. A probable nephew of
Simeon's (Hammett HELMS) was b. in Geneva, NY but have never been able to connect anything there.

I am seeking information on the Levi Bullock family, specifically Sabrina BULLOCK who married Thomas MELDREM. This Bullock family appears in the Solon census' from 1830 to 1870's. I cannot find proof that Sabrina is the daughter of Levi and Betsey Randall Bullock, although all evidence points to that conclusion. Levi and Betsey went to Canada in 1853/4 to care for Betsey's widowed mother, Matilda Yale Randall. (I have letters.) Thomas and Sabrina were found in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada in the 1850 census and were mentioned in a history of Bervie, as being the first residents of that town. Thomas and Sabrina were also found in Berrien Co., MI in 1860, then Thomas disappears and the children are found in the county home in Cortland Co., NY. It is believed that James, Thomas, William, Charles Samuel Meldrem were all born in Canada and John and Sabrina Meldrem were born in Berrien Co., MI. Sabrind was married in 1866 to Elisha Hall of Vermilion Co., Illinois. This is a real puzzle for me and I would appreciate any help. I would be glad to share any
info I have and I have a bunch!
